Solent Galley Gathering - Sep 2023

Six intrepid YGRC members headed to Hayling Island on 30th September for a Solent Galley gathering of these beautiful classic wooden boats, built in the 1950/60s. Rosemary joined Joyce, Langstone Lady, Bembridge and Gladys, for Ladies, Mens and Mixed 1km sprint races, with crews and coxes mixing together in different boats.

 

A wonderful and very sociable day (many thanks to all involved), culminating in a row in company (and sunshine) across to The Ship Inn in Langstone … well it just had to be done!!
